Wall of Honor Nomination Information
Purpose
The Wall of Honor is a collaborative effort that began in 1990 to recognize men and women for their efforts in working with the youth of Ward 4 Recreation District 2. The goal of the Wall of Honor is to recognize and honor those individuals who have given their time, energy, and knowledge to help enhance and encourage our youth to be better athletes and community stewards.
Eligibility Requirements
- The following requirements will guide the nomination process for individuals: 1. May have participated in SPAR programs as a volunteer for recreation sports. May have also been an active supporter of any other SPAR programs.
- 2. The candidate must have achieved a personal level of success or other noteworthy contributions beyond the High School level. This includes volunteerism in the SPAR system.
- 3. Must always be a good citizen, show good character, integrity, and represent SPAR and the Ward 4 Recreation District 2 community.
- 4. Must not have any felony convictions at the time of nomination. Any felony conviction after selection may result in removing their name from the Wall of Honor.
Process
SPAR will issue an annual call for nominations (via website, newsletter, and social media). Nominations will be accepted year-round via an online questionnaire on the SPAR website (www.sulphurparks.com/wallofhonor). All nominees will be reviewed and vetted by the nomination committee and SPAR. Any nominations submitted after May 31 of the current year, will be reviewed in the following year.Once an individual is nominated and meets selection requirements, he or she shall remain on the ballot for three (3) years. Placement on the ballot is determined by SPAR and Wall of Fame Committee. If the nominee does not meet the criteria or is not selected, a notice will be sent to email provided on the nomination form.
