Sulphur Parks and Recreation

Henning Cultural Center

Henning Cultural Center was originally the home of community leader Rev. John T Henning.   The home was built in 1904 and was owned by the Henning family until 1942.   Sulphur Parks & Recreation acquired the property in 2002 with the vision of offering the community exposure to traveling exhibits and local artists, through an agreement with the Brimstone Historical Society.  Renovations were completed on the property and it was opened to the public in 2004 and has grown to be a center piece of the Heritage Square community area.  Each year in December the Christmas Under the Oaks festival grows and brings a unique experience to the Sulphur community along with the entire Southwest Louisiana area.  Contact the Cultural Center or the Brimstone Museum for additional information and events.  337-527-0357 or
